4th Section of driveway poured

Today was the icing on the cake for this driveway project. In the big scheme of things, the driveway is a small part, but without it, no future access to the property would be possible. In addition our previous erosion problems are now solved.  That said, there was much more to this driveway than meets the eye - as an experiment in remote planning, communication, co-ordination, logistics, council dealings, and forex transactions, this "small-ish" project was a huge success, largely due to the professionalism of Peter Arieni with his construction and management skills plus the talented work of his team (Geoff and John) on the ground there in Mt. Coolum.  Thanks guys, you really did a great job and the beers are well deserved.

Final Section Concrete Pour

It's been a long time coming, but we finally made it to the last concrete pour of this driveway. The last section took 16 cubic metres of concrete and we proved today that a concrete truck with 5 cubic metres of concrete can reverse up the driveway with no trouble at all. This says a lot about the strength and planning of such a driveway given the slope. It also has greater meaning for the house build - all footings and slabs will have easy access for the trucks in the future! Pete, Will and Clynton were on board today to finish the final section, which looks great - well done guys.

Pete helped us out to move forward with sorting out the drainage and erosion issues, before we could continue
