Marking out retaining wall footings, excavation and steel delivery

Today, things really started to move ahead. The machines where there to finally dig.
The photos below show marking out of the footings and the excavation work that was completed (without a toilet on site).   Pete booked a toilet for tomorrow till the 20th of December.
He also booked the concrete and the pump for Tuesday next week as they need time to prepare the footings and have everything in place.  Footings inspection will happen Monday morning 9.30 Spraying the walls of the drain will also happen as well.
So far so good.

Where it all started...

We saw this add in front of a realestate agent and decided to make an offer.  After some negotiation, we finally secured the property for AUD$182K.

Wall cutting done, aggy pipe and behind-wall fill installed

Today was a big success, the rest of the wall was cut by allcoast saw cutting and the drainage behind the wall was installed. This consists of an aggy pipe with aggregate stones on top and finally soil as the final layer. Peter was able to use the stockpile of soil on site and ordered exactly the right amount of drainage gravel (10 meters) for the job. Well done Pete!

Top section poured today

What an improvement, just seeing this top section poured really shows how the whole driveway is coming together and also how much load it can handle. Having both a loaded concrete truck and pump truck being able to get up the driveway and be both on it at the same time, tells us that the driveway is doing what it's promised - it's able to handle very heavy vehicles and look ascetically pleasing as well as providing drainage and retaining functions for that part of the slope. Peter, Will and Clynton were all on deck today, pushing out the slab which looks fantastic. Job well done guys.
