Wall prep and driveway formwork started

Today the guys were continuing preping the wall for the pour (which will happen on wed morning now, not tuesday as was planned) and forming up both area around the catchment basin as well as the driveway. Once the wall is core filled, the aggy pipe can be laid behind the wall with aggregate installed ontop and finally some top soil. Once that's done, we'll be ready for the top of the wall to be saw cut and the driveway concreting can start. Things are really moving.

Top section poured today

What an improvement, just seeing this top section poured really shows how the whole driveway is coming together and also how much load it can handle. Having both a loaded concrete truck and pump truck being able to get up the driveway and be both on it at the same time, tells us that the driveway is doing what it's promised - it's able to handle very heavy vehicles and look ascetically pleasing as well as providing drainage and retaining functions for that part of the slope. Peter, Will and Clynton were all on deck today, pushing out the slab which looks fantastic. Job well done guys.

Wall cutting done, aggy pipe and behind-wall fill installed

Today was a big success, the rest of the wall was cut by allcoast saw cutting and the drainage behind the wall was installed. This consists of an aggy pipe with aggregate stones on top and finally soil as the final layer. Peter was able to use the stockpile of soil on site and ordered exactly the right amount of drainage gravel (10 meters) for the job. Well done Pete!
